At Live Proxies, we offer two main types of proxy solutions: Rotating Residential | Mobile IPs and Static Residential IPs. Both are designed to meet different needs, and here’s an overview to help you understand which is the best fit for your requirements.
Rotating Residential | Mobile IPs
Rotating proxies are powered by residential and mobile IPs sourced from our SDK partners. These IPs come from active home devices connected to our proxy network. We classify them as Residential IPs when the connection is via a home Wi-Fi network, and Mobile IPs when the device is connected through a mobile carrier.
The key characteristic of these proxies is that they are rotating. This means the IP address may change due to various factors, such as:
- The device switching Wi-Fi networks
- The ISP resetting the IP address
- The user resetting their router
- The device disconnecting from our network, and another connected peer replacing the IP
On average, these IPs rotate about twice a month, but the frequency may vary. While most IPs in our network rotate regularly, some may remain stable for longer periods, such as 30 days or more. However, the nature of rotating proxies is such that there’s no fixed duration guarantee.
Static Residential IPs
Occasionally, we identify Residential IPs that remain connected to our network for extended periods, sometimes 30 days, 60 days, or more. Once we determine that these IPs are stable, we categorize them as Static Residential IPs and offer them to users who prefer more consistency in their proxy connections.
It’s important to note that unlike Data Center or ISP Proxies, which are tied to fixed subnets and don’t change, Static Residential IPs may still change over time. While they generally remain stable for days or weeks, they do not offer the long-term consistency or guarantee of traditional static proxies from data centers or ISPs.
When to Choose Static Residential IPs
Static Residential IPs are ideal for users who need stable IPs for short to medium durations—ranging from a few days to several weeks. They are high-quality, residential IPs that perform well in many use cases. However, if your project requires the same IP for months at a time, a Static Residential IP may not be the best fit, and you might want to explore more permanent proxy options like Data Center or ISP Proxies.
Conclusion
Live Proxies offers flexible solutions tailored to meet your specific needs, whether you're looking for the reliability of rotating proxies or the relative stability of static residential IPs. When selecting between rotating and static proxies, it's important to consider how long you need the same IP and whether occasional changes in the IP address are acceptable for your use case.
